On September 30, 2021 we were delighted to be able to help deliver our first awards event since the first lockdown.
Hundreds of guests attended the Macdonald Manchester Hotel for the celebration hosted by comedian and writer Jo Caulfield. The event saw prizes and commendations handed out to specialist projects in construction design and build sector.
As you would expect preparations for the event began many months ago, from confirming contracts and detailing requirements for AV, photography, room dressing, celebrity host and entertainment. Like with all our events, we tried to work with reliable suppliers who we’ve worked with before – assuming they met the event budget requirements, of course.
Thankfully, the judging was undertaken by a panel of industry experts. We supported this and provided editorial for each winning entry for two printed publications.
We created a branded presentation with key images and project names which was delivered by the host. This was checked by four different members of our team as, like all the publications we produce, it was critical there were no errors or omissions. We also drafted three scripts. One for the celebrity host, one for the Chairman and one for the voiceover. Again, these had to be thoroughly checked. One of our team announced the winners on social media as each presentation was made.
All attendees were sent detailed information about the event and, of course, the necessary health and safety information about a large gathering in these challenging times.
The event had the support of six sponsors and a media partner. All of which were promoted in the marketing material before, during and after the celebration. Sponsors could choose from one of three packages which entitled them to varying levels or promotion and exposure.
The key to a successful event is planning. We had back-up plans, minute-by-minute schedules and our very own Dan, Andrew and Joe (pictured above) were on-site to make sure everything went smoothly.
The post-event tasks included sending certificates to finalists, writing and distributing press releases, updating websites, thanking our sponsors and obtaining guest feedback. As with all our events we also made an improvement list of things to tweak and change so the next event will be even bigger, better and brighter.
