Is there an Association of Associations?

Yes, there is!

The Trade Association Forum (TAF) is the only Government supported organisation as the association of associations. TAF run courses and conferences and are an excellent source of information and guidance.

And there are some other bodies which help support the membership sector.

Memberwise is a very active organisation for membership professionals providing and sharing expertise in this community through a clever forum. Memberwise also run too highly successful conferences every year, Membership Excellence in the spring and Digital Excellence in the autumn and we are proud to support these events as volunteers.

The Memberwise website includes a comprehensive supplier directory including those providing association management services.

The Society of Association Membership Professionals (SAMP) provides “enhanced professional status, comprehensive support and a strong and collective voice for association and membership professionals at all levels and career stages”.

Our very own Andrew Chalk is on the Steering Committee of SAMP and was awarded Fellowship of SAMP in 2019 in recognition of his experience and skill in the membership sector.

The Association of Association Executives also supports the membership sector with events, resources and career development.

memcom has been providing support for the membership and not-for-profit sector since 2000. memcom hold conferences and annual membership excellence awards and their website includes a handy directory of suppliers, including us.

In America the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) represents those working in the association sector.
