How many association management companies are there in the UK?

This is a specialist sector of service providers so there is not a single source to identify how many association management companies (AMCs) there are in the UK.

However, having carried out extensive directory and internet searches, we believe there are just 14 companies in the UK that are dedicated to managing associations.

We have identified a further 29 companies whose main focus is other services (events, PR, lobbying etc.), but which offer association management as an add-on service.

The AMC model in the UK is not as developed as in north America where AMCs are much more common.

The American Society of Association Executives has 44,000 members representing more than 7,400 associations in the United States. To put this into perspective, our free UK trade association database contains around 1,250 associations in the UK.

The largest AMC in the world is probably Kellen Company providing services to over 100 associations. Headquartered in America it has offices in Brussels and Bejing.
