The AMC praised for delivery of showpiece event

A fantastic weekend of business tips, networking and awards has seen The Association Management Company (The AMC) showered with brilliant feedback.

It all took place as part of a client’s biennial Gala Weekend which we helped organise and deliver at Whittlebury Park in Northamptonshire.

Day one of the event was geared towards giving the attending members easy-to-use business hints and tips and saw several experts speak on matters such as pricing, productivity and creating a competitive edge.

Part of our role was to identify suitable (and interesting!) speakers while on a tight budget.

As we do for all events that we organise, we created a detailed brief for the speakers. This included the purpose, timings and location, as well as the number of expected attendees and what would be of interest to them. We also provided information on the AV equipment available, when the presentation had to be submitted and in what format. In addition, we hosted a pre-event Zoom meeting to introduce the speakers to one another.

In-between sessions there were opportunities for members to network. Due to the pandemic, it was the first-time members had been a room together for quite some time so this opportunity was eagerly anticipated.

The end of the first day was rounded off with a traditional pub quiz hosted by The AMC.

An awards ceremony took centre stage on day two of the weekend.

Several months before the event, members were invited to submit entries for seven different award categories. To help manage the judging process, we used awards management software which allows entrants to easily upload nominations and attached supporting evidence. The judges then reviewed and scored the entries but could not see comments from other judges, or the overall winner, ensuring it was a fair process.

We created a presentation with key images and project names which was checked for accuracy by several members of our team and delivered by the host. We also drafted four different scripts – one for the host; one for the association’s president and two for guest speakers.

Overall, it was a fantastic event and that’s reflected in the feedback received by attendees.
